Swedish National goalie to HC Lugano

According to rumors that are circulating within Switzerland, HC Lugano is in search for another goalie as David Aebischer is on the sidelines.

Former NHL goalie Mikael Tellquist, is rumored to be the replacement and is currently playing with AK Bars Kazan in the KHL.  Much criticism has been directed at Tellquist due to the team’s poor standings, 6th place of the 12 team Eastern Conference.

HC Lugano has also agreed  to sign a contract with former NHL Boyd Deveraux until the end of December 2009. This will increase the imports to five.

Devereaux practises with HC Lugano

Hockey Club Lugano, has announces that former NHL player Boyd Devereaux will train with the club.

The thirty-one year old Canadian player, who took part in 654 games in NHL with Edmonton, Detroit, Phoenix and Toronto, will be evaluated by the management staff to determine if a contract will be awarded for the 2009-2010 season.

During the last season Devereaux took part in 23 games in NHL with the Toronto Maple Leafs and 45 games with the Toronto Marlies in AHL.
